Supporting the HUB and carrying the brunt of the project work and consensus building are individual “spokes” (or committees).  There are eight spokes with a champion for each.  The Spokes welcome all persons who desire to participate.  The spokes are:

Community Assessment – involving citizens and leaders in the development process
Destination Harrison – supporting theater, arts, and history events and tours
Entrepreneurship – supporting the development of new businesses
Funding – identify opportunities for public, private, and non-profit investors
Infrastructure roads, streets, parking, traffic, telecommunications, water, etc.
Marketing publicity, development of image, brand, and marketing strategies
Quality of Life beautification, streetscape, trail system, enhanced amenities
Retail – strengthen existing retailers and recruit businesses to fill retail gaps

The Historic Harrison Business Association has announced the schedule for the 1st annual Hometown Holidays celebration December 1st – 5th.

Touted as a celebration where hometown talent welcomes back family and friends to a holiday celebration in the Ozarks, Hometown Holidays Festivities include:

Thursday December 1st

Miss Spirit of Christmas Pageant for contestants 12 and under with winners riding in the Christmas Parade

Friday December 2nd

An evening with Tim Ernst, Arkansas portfolio

Saturday on the Square – December 3rd

Christmas sales on the square

Harrison choir to provide Christmas caroling

Colossal Christmas stocking give-a-way at Books on the square

Sunday December 4th – The HHBA -Holiday Brunch – 10- 2PM

Featuring the Chefs of Harrison’s own Jamies Creative Catering with a guest appearance from the one and many Santa Claus (noon – 1PM).  In the Hotel Seville – Brunch is $15.95 with proceeds going to support the Historic Harrison Business Association.

The Ozarks Children’s Choir in the Lyric – 2PM

Pre-parade Christmas party on the square begins at 430PM with the Annual Christmas Parade soon to follow

Hometown Holidays is intended to start a holiday tradition for Harrison, celebrates Downtown Harrison and the rich family traditions of the entire community and one that encourages friends and family to return home to Harrison for a memorable Christmas weekend.

Shopping and Events are centered in the Lake Harrison Marketplace with the holiday brunch as a fund raiser for HHBA so they can bring more events like this throughout the upcoming year
